The year’s first VR Games Showcase is getting ready to kick off, coming March 11th and promising a load of VR game reveals, updates and new trailers.

‘Max Mustard’ Studio Lays Off Majority of Staff & Closes Office, Vows to Continue Work on XR Games

Toast Interactive, VR veteran studio behind Richie’s Plank Experience (2017) and Max Mustard (2024), announced it’s closing office and laying off a majority of staff.

The Gold Coast, Australia-based studio revealed the news in an X post (seen below), noting that the “majority of our talented staff have suffered redundancies.”

‘Thief Simulator’ VR Sold Over 300,000 Copies on Quest Alone

3R Games, the studio behind Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street (2022), revealed the game has sold over 310,000 units on Quest alone.

Announced in an X post last week, the studio says this includes sales across all supported Quest headsets—Quest 2, 3, 3S and Pro. Notably, the game is also available on PSVR 2.

3R Games maintains these are indeed sales, which at its regular price of $20 on Quest puts its theoretical maximum revenue around $6.2 million.

Indie VR Hit Sequel ‘Into the Radius 2’ is Headed to Quest 3 in Early Access

Into the Radius 2, sequel to the popular post-apocalyptic shooter, is coming soon to Quest 3 in early access.

Developer CM Games says the game is planned to release on Quest 3 and Quest 3S sometime in Q2 2025, priced at $40.

Furthermore, the studio says the Quest version of Into the Radius 2 will “have the same features and content as the PC VR version,” noting however some things will launch first on PC VR and later become available on Quest.

VR Treadmill Omni One Adds New Games to Lineup, Including ‘Arizona Sunshine’ Series and ‘Into the Radius’

Virtuix, the company known for its line of VR treadmills, announced it’s adding nine more VR games to its lineup of titles supported by its Omni One all-in-one system.

The company says Omni One now supports over 55 titles, with its most recent additions including Arizona Sunshine Remake, Arizona Sunshine 2, and Into The Radius.

Other newly added titles include Ascent Quest, Everslaught Invasion, Motion Soccer, Thief Simulator VR, TOTALLY BASKETBALL!, and Venture’s Gauntlet VR, letting you physically walk, run, crouch, kneel, jump, strafe, and backpedal in games that would otherwise map movement to a thumbstick.

Mil-Sim Shooter ‘Onward’ Announces First Major Update After a Year-long Wait

Onward (2020), the tactical mil-sim shooter from Meta-owned Downpour Interactive, is getting a big 2.0 update soon. It’s been a long time coming too, as the game’s last major update was nearly one year ago.

Onward hasn’t been abandoned, although it has seen fairly light updates in the year since the studio released its big ‘Mercenary’ update, which brought to the game in February 2024 a PVE mode and various graphic tweeks.

Alien: Rogue Incursion initially launched on PSVR 2 and PC VR headsets in December, bringing the first VR-native game to the storied ‘Alien’ franchise. Now, developer Survios has finally released the game on Quest 3.
