Meta finally unveiled the long-rumored (and leaked) Quest 3S, but that doesn’t mean we’re getting a torrent of new accessories. While most Quest 3 accessories work with Quest 3S, Meta also announced two new model-exclusive facial interfaces that may turn some heads, and a new controller charging dock too.

Developer Vertigo Games announced that Metro Awakening, the VR exclusive created in collaboration with the series’ original author Dmitry Glukhovsky, is slated to arrive on all major VR headset November 7th.

Meta & Microsoft Partner to Bring Quest Automatic Pairing with Windows 11 PCs Soon, Just Like Vision Pro
Meta revealed at Connect today that it’s working with Microsoft to bring its Quest platform better wireless pairing with Windows 11 PCs, aiming to make using a PC with Quest a more seamless experience.
“Soon you’re going to be able to easily connect to any Windows 11 PC. You just look at keyboard and it will start pairing,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on stage.
When it arrives, we still don’t know beyond “soon”, but Zuckerberg says it will support multiple virtual displays, and make Quest more of a “natural extension of your PC.”

Sony Teases Something from ‘Starship Troopers’ Coming to PSVR 2
Sony is teasing something to do with the beloved cult classic film Starship Troopers (1997) and PSVR 2, with more information coming next week.
Sony Pictures VR, with the help of original Starship Troopers actor Casper Van Dien (Juan Rico), tossed out a short video on X teasing an announce coming in hot on September 30th, promising a “big announcement.”

Meta Announces Quest 3S, Launching Next Month With an Aggressive $300 Starting Price
On stage at Meta Connect today, CEO Mark Zuckerberg officially unveiled Quest 3S, Meta’s next headset, which aims to appeal to first-timers as well as Quest and Quest 2 owners looking for their first mixed reality device.
As previous leaks suggested, Meta is releasing two variants of Quest 3S, a 128GB model priced at $300 and a 256GB model for $400, launching on October 15th.
You’ll be able to buy direct from Meta alongside the usual retail partners, which in the US includes Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Walmart. Here’s the pricing breakdown by various regions and their respective retailers:

After a torrent of leaks, Meta has finally unveiled Quest 3S at Connect today, detailing every reason why it thinks Quest and Quest 2 owners ought to upgrade to the company’s latest and now most affordable mixed reality headset. Here’s the breakdown:
In terms of specs, Quest 3S is straddling somewhere between the 2020-era Quest 2 and 2023-era Quest 3, notably ditching the monochrome passthrough and last-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chipset for full-color sensors and the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 as Quest 3.

We’ve been hoping to see Thrill of the Fight 2 in action since it was announced last year, the upcoming sequel to Quest’s most popular VR boxing sim. Now, studios Sealost Interactive and Halfbrick Studios released the game’s first proper trailer, further announcing it’s headed to Quest in early access on November 21st.

The fast approaching Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is landing on PC and Xbox consoles November 19th. While it wasn’t clear at its initial unveiling last summer whether Asobo’s next-gen flight sim would include VR support, the studio says it’s definitely coming, and even showed it off in action.
