It’s been a little over two years since The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners (2020) shambled onto VR headsets, serving up 20+ hours of zombie-slaying nightmare fuel. Now the developers say its standalone sequel, Chapter 2: Retribution, is coming to VR in December.

Despite a flood of leaks leading up to its official unveiling, there’s one thing we definitely didn’t know about Quest Pro before today: its battery life. And at Connect, Meta revealed we should expect between one to two hours of usage with the company’s $1,500 standalone.

Meta says Quest Pro users can extend runtime by using the two-meter charging cable included in-box. You can also probably get away with some sort of external battery, although Meta hasn’t said as much.

Meta today unveiled Quest Pro, it’s next high-end VR headset which is capable of AR interactions thanks to full-color passthrough. The company confirmed Quest Pro is fully backwards compatible with Quest 2, and also supports Oculus Link and Air Link for PC VR play.

Meta says Quest Pro includes a full Wi-Fi 6E experience in the 6GHz broadband spectrum, and can deliver up to 1.6Gbps of throughput, which is notably double the bandwidth over Quest 2 Wi-Fi capabilities.

Meta announced at its Connect developer conference today that the company has acquired three more VR game studios, bringing its total to nine such acquisitions over the past two years.

Joining Meta’s Oculus Studios is Camouflaj (Marvel’s Iron Man VR), Twisted Pixel (Wilson’s Heart, Path of the Warrior), and Armature Studio (Resident Evil 4 VR port for Quest 2).

At Connect 2022 today, Camouflaj and Meta announced they’re bringing Marvel’s Iron Man VR out of PSVR exclusivity and releasing it on Meta Quest 2 next month.

Developed by Camouflaj and Endeavor One, Iron Man VR is officially coming to Quest 2 on November 3rd.

Debuted at Connect today, Behemoth is still largely a mystery. The team says the Quest 2 and Rift S title is being “built from the ground up to showcase everything Skydance Interactive has learned about what it means to fight for your very survival in VR.”
